Explore with me, What's cookin'

Explore Manchester..

..when the sun is out!

Unless you’re willing to drag your feet across the wet streets of Manchester, I’d suggest to do your exploring on a sunny day.

I was fortunate to experience my last weeks in the city with days bountiful of sunshine. I walked into corners of the city that I would never venture down on a gloomy day, and believe me, neither would anyone else!

Manchester

Slight caution to this post, it will be heavy with photos and recommendations.

Manchester has been my home for the past 7 years and I am grateful to see this city grow in abundance.. Namely in the expansion of its food scene.

Throughout the past couple of years, I’ve indulged in several restaurants that demonstrate delicious culinary arts accompanied with interior decor that range from elegant sophistication to the wild and wacky.

Let’s dive into my list of recommendations..

Brunch- San Carlo Cicchetti at House of Fraser

Afternoon Tea- Teacup in Northern Quarter

TeacupRichmond Tea Rooms in The Village

Richmond Tea Roomsor Proper Tea at Manchester Cathedral

Proper TeaAs you can see, definitely a lover of tea and cake!

Burgers and all things meaty- Bem Brasil in Deansgate, Solita in Northern Quarter, Reds True BBQ in Albert Square

And yes, that’s a donut burger you see right there from Reds True.. and a root beer float.

Tapas- Go greek at Dimitris or Spanish at Evuna in Deansgate (pictured below)

Indian- Zouk on Chester Street

For those special occasions- The Alchemist on New York Street or Spinningfields (I can’t choose, both great venues!) or Australasia in Spinningfields (a must! please promise me you’ll splurge here)

Australasia

Other than exploring and indulging in food, Manchester offers a great deal of the arts.

Venture into Manchester Craft and Design Centre, home to 30 resident artists and makers showcasing their work which are also made available for purchase.
